INAUGURAL MOUNTAIN VOLLEY SPRING CUP

2v2 YOUTH VOLLEYBALL CELEBRATION

Join us May 23 in Hamilton to celebrate youth volleyball at the inaugural Mountain Volley Spring Cup! This unique 2v2 tournament is inspired by youth development in France, fast and fun play for 12u athletes. This tournament is a joint initiative of the Mountain Athletic Club (MAC) and Mountain Volleyball Club (MVC).

8 boys teams and 8 girls teams will compete for the 2026 Spring Cup, representing clubs across southern Ontario, including:

  • Mountain Athletic Club

  • Mountain Volleyball Club

  • Milton Edge

  • Niagara Rapids

  • Halton Hurricanes

  • Smash Raiders

  • Kitchener-Waterloo Predators

  • Independent team from Pelham

When: Saturday, May 23, 2026

  • 9am – Games Start

  • 6pm – Medals and Awards Ceremony

  • 6:30pm – Tournament Social

  • 8pm – Departure

Where: Hillfield Strathallan College, 299 Fennell Ave W, Hamilton, ON

Teams: Max 16 teams (8 girls & 8 boys teams)

  • Athletes must be true 12u age, born in 2014 or younger

  • A team is comprised of 4 players and 1 coach

  • Registration is open to any volleyball club interested

Format: 2v2 (substitutions allowed)

  • Net height = 2m; court size = single badminton court

  • No rallyball/tripleball

  • Round robin 2 straight sets to 15 (7 matches)

  • Playoff for all positions based on ranking after round robin (e.g. teams that finish 3rd and 4th overall play for bronze)

  • Full tournament rules and schedule details will be provided after teams are confirmed

Cost: $300/team

Registration includes: all facility costs, athlete t-shirts, medals for top 3 teams, special awards, and tournament dinner/social

Food: Post-tournament social will involve snacks, drinks, and pizza for players, coaches, and volunteers. Family members and other team supporters are also welcome to join the dinner, at a cost of $15/person.

Travel: If you are travelling from far, we can help to arrange affordable accommodations in McMaster University residence for the nights of May 22 and/or 23. If you’d like to make a weekend of it, you can tour Hamilton attractions like the Royal Botanical Gardens, McMaster University, hiking trails and waterfalls, or nearby Niagara Falls (and Niagara-on-the-Lake wineries) or take in the big city experience in Toronto.
