Brad McClure is our technical director and head coach of the Mohawk College men's volleyball team located in Hamilton, ON. His coaching career started while he was completing his undergraduate degree where he began coaching a youth team in the Cambridge area and has sought out unique coaching challenges and experiences ever since. His extensive coaching background includes being the head coach of the Conestoga Women's Volleyball team and assistant coaching roles with the Western University Women's Program and Fanshawe College Men's Program.
In addition to indoor coaching, Brad is a certified Performance Beach Coach and has coached with the Team Ontario High Performance Beach for the past 8 seasons. During this time he has coached within the full-time training group and coached athletes of both genders across a variety of age groups (U16 to U22). Several coaching highlights from his beach experiences include providing support to athletes internationally at training camps, FIVB adult and youth world championship events and head coaching the Team Ontario Female Canada Games team that captured silver at the 2017 Canada Summer Games.
For the 2021-2022 indoor season, he will be acting as a roving coach where he will be working primarily with our 16U-18U High Performance Teams.
Gita Ljubicic is returning for her second year coaching the MAC 12U Copper team.
Gita played four years of varsity volleyball at York University and one year at Queen’s University, where she was a first team OUA all-star. She also played several years on the Ontario beach volleyball tour and some national tournaments during her university years. Since moving to Hamilton in 2014, Gita began learning more about coaching as an assistant with the McMaster Marauders Women’s Volleyball team and with the Hamilton Volleyball Academy operated by MAC. In the summer of 2022 she coached with the Team Ontario Regional Program and won a silver medal at Ontario Summer Games.

Louis-Pierre Mainville will be returning to the club as a Head Coach for the 2022-2023 as our 6v6 (U13) coach.
LP played with the Canadian National Team from 2006 to 2013, captaining the team from 2008-11 and played professionally in Greece, Argentina and Romania from 2007-2011.
LP is a Performance (Level 3) certified coach and re-joins MAC having coached MAC from 13u-16u, Club Ball in Quebec for a number of years and previously spending time as an assistant coach with the Men’s National B Team.
LP is also the Director of Athlete Development for the OVA where he manages the policies and processes for High Performance Sport and Athlete Development.
MAC is extremely grateful to have someone of LP’s calibre, work with our Early Initiative athletes. We look forward to LP bringing his enthusiasm and incredible knowledge of the game to our youngest players!

Coach Trevor began coaching with MAC in 2019 and over the past 3 years has played the role of Head Coach and Assistant coach with the 13u age group. During his time as an Assistant, he built his experience from other MAC Coaches such as Ron Merriam, LP Mainville and club Technical Director, Brad McClure.
Trevor started playing club volleyball in grade 9 and continued to play 2 years of varsity volleyball with Sheridan College.

We are happy to introduce you to our 15U Head Coach, Ron Merriam. Ron has been with MAC in various capacities including head coach, assistant coach and has even held the role of president during his 12 year tenure with the club. Ron recently received the Recognition Award from the OVA for his 10 years of volunteering as a club executive, assistant coach and head coach for the growth and development of athletes and the sport of volleyball.

Eli has been with the MAC Club for the past 9 years, the first 6 as a player, learning from a variety of coaches and developing a strong understanding of the game. Eli started coaching our 2007 age group with the 13U Graphite team and led the boys to a silver and a gold medal. Eli has also been working with the MVP Camps for 4 years, starting as a volunteer and progressing to his present role as a head coach for the 16u Steel team.
Eli continued his growth as a coach during the summer as he was a coach in the Team Ontario Regional Program.

2022-2023 will be Jamie Huot’s 5th year with MAC. Over that time, Jamie will be entering his 3rd season as a Head Coach, spent 2 seasons as an Assistant Coach and is now entering his 4th year as the MAC Club President.
Jamie was a multiple sport athlete growing up through high school and college playing tennis, hockey, soccer, golf, basketball and volleyball.
He has officiated hockey for 7 years and coached house league sports of soccer, hockey and volleyball and competitively in hockey and volleyball. Jamie was also an assistant coach for the Sr Girls Volleyball Team at Cardinal Newman while attending college.
As both a junior and an adult, Jamie has competed at the CANUSA games in tennis and volleyball and continued to play in the Hamilton Men’s “A” Volleyball league for a number of years.
Jamie has been connected to competitive youth volleyball in Hamilton for many years as his daughter played with MVC for 6+ years and Legacy Beach for 2. He also serves as the Lead Recruiter for the Nipissing Lakers Women's Volleyball team in North Bay.
